01.04.15 Diesel

Once again, Diesel and I have been working on lead-free recalls. We get to run about like mad-men, Diesel gets a wrestle as a reward and then he’s off again!

Its not often I get to say this about Diesel, but this is the second time in a row, where I have felt sorry for working him so hard…funny lil guy!

So… what we have been doing is walking random squares/ rectangles/ lines. I change direction and Diesel follows. He runs wide arcs around me, I change direction and he follows. Then I call him in… pat my chest as a signal for play jumping and wrestles and Diesel comes screaming in at full pace!

We did this for over an hour today! So the last few laps I would pat my chest with both hands and Diesel would run in and then stagger at my feet and give up on the last lil jump. So we settled for sitting and sharing pats in the shade… WOW! A pooped diesel!

We finished on some more laps and headed home. Diesel was relatively quiet on the ride home. But when I left him in his yard he was ready for more play! Sigh! So much for a big work out and a pooped Diesel… maybe next time!
