01.04.15 Leo and Sadie
Leo and Sadie always have a great welcome for me when I arrive at their place… they even know the sound of my car and give me a little “yip” when I close my car door… hurry up Mike…it’s walkin time!
So I pull up get myself sorted, shut the door and put away my keys and just as I start to head up the drive someone gives me a hello “yip”! I am pretty sure they can’t see me as they have a very secure and Leo and Sadie proof fence, so they definitely know the sound of my car now.
I unlock the gate and its all very very exciting… mike, its been a whole 12 hours since we saw you last! Come in and share the love! We do a bit of settling down at the gate and then I sit and we say our hellos and settle in again. Leo and Sadie are working very hard at school, so we try and practice some things on our walks. So settling down after excitements is a good one for them.
Once we get walking and past a few noisey neighbours, we are all back to business, and its head down staffy-buts up!
Today we went up hill and down dale. I finally remembered to get my camera, so the first shots of the day were of Leo and Sadie walking in a nice autumn morning. We even had a row of poplars dropping leaves along the way. The guys liked snuffling through the leaves… and I’m a sucker for autumn leaves anyway…so we were all happy.
I really like this time of year as its not too hot and lil staffy legs don’t work up too much of a “sweat”. We can just power on through and cover some kilometres.
So we did a big loop up to the entry of that car racing circuit and then up the hill and around again. By the time we arrived home we were well worn, but not too pooped. Sadie took a rest, but Leo has been seeing me off at the gate lately. He gives me his best…please don’t go… look…and I promise him… yes…it will be another whole day till we see each other again… think of it as just one sleep mate… you’ll be right!
