Last week, I slept through my alarm, so I was up early to make sure I didn’t miss my walk with Muriel.
(This is an older pic of Muriel as My phone slept in too...it stayed at home!)
The last Time I slept through an alarm, was some time in 1989! I then ran to the station, jumped on to a train I thought was going to Canberra, but woke up when the announcement said Yass…next stop! So from then on I have woken before most alarms go off!
So I was on time and sticking to schedule! Muriel and I set off for a walk up a long long hillas part of a big loop that would eventually see us climb the hill, scoot along the top, and then make our way home via a watercourse. It’s been nice and cool on our early morning walks, so it was great to enjoy the cool misty morning. We could see the wispy mists in the river basin… well, I could! Muriel was concentrating on her scenting skills!
It was a nice view as well headed up the hill. The sun just started to cast its golden light on the grassy hills beside us, so it was very pleasant indeed.
Once we got to the top we headed along the ridge and then jumped back down the start of a watercourse and followed the pathways along and around. We were pretty much the only people using the path, so we had the place to ourselves. We did see some little dogs on the loose, one scooted off pretty quick and the other followed. I don’t know if it was Muiriels confident trot, or whether they recognised me as the guy that walks 2 big Boxers…eitherway… they got outta the way!
Its always nice walking with Muriel. At times we skip along at quite a rate of knots, and at others were investigating the who’s who and what’s what of the scenting world… and then were off again.
We got home and while Muriels Mum and I chatted, Muriel was lapping up all the pats and scratches she could handle. She was quite spritely actually… I must remember to get her to walk further next time!
See you Muriel, have a good week and a great Easter!
