02.04.15 Billy
It was good to take a walk with Billy today! He was all about the love… again… so he stopped me a fair few times…somewhere in there we managed to take a walk!
Billy was in fine form today. After the welcoming bonding session and the pats and scratches…Billy was off like a rocket into some shrubs close to his place…in one end, went Billy, and out the other end went the blur of what I can only describe as a cat-like- streak! Poor kitty! I had Billy firmly in hand on the lead, so no cat-like-streaks were harmed in the making of this walk!
So then, the local dogs were all excited and that got Billy even more excited and then two silly little dogs took a run at us… and that got Billy Barking! He rarely barks, but he does have a great earsplitting multi-decibel bark when he decides to use it! …then after no more than 50 metres of excitement Billy bails me up for pats and scratches… yeah Billy! Some tough guy you are! He cracks me up…!
We continued on our walk along a route we haven’t taken for a few weeks now. It was the one where we actually saw a possum…well, we saw a possums butt! So we tried our luck again today. No one was home. Billy looked at me, looked up the tree, then back to me as if to say… nah…no possums up there mike! He was right! We had a Billy requested stop for more pats and scratches, so we sat it out and had a good look around and shared some pats… yet again!
We headed off up the hill along a nice little nature reserve fenceline. The side we were on was all nicely mown, but on the other side of the fence its all tall grass. I keep an eye out for Billy so he doesn’t get too close… Billy is a very dependable Boy and I don’t think he’d stir up trouble, but who knows what might be lurking in there!
There was a bit to sniff about on the fenceline… most likely more possums, maybe the odd cat that steals into the night on the hunt… but nothing too exciting. We kept on along and made it into another park and took a rest break and a drink. Billy wasn’t all that thirsty so we headed for home.
Along the way we investigated some noisy frogs… not sure what Billy thought they were? We also took another little watercourse home… avoiding giving any other cats a heart attack! The last I saw of Billy, he was wrestling with his rope toy and still running about like a mad man! Have a great weekend Billy!
