03.04.15 Zoe and Joe
It was a dull grey start to the day this morning, and the rain held off for a little while… but by the time Zoe, Joe and I made it to the halfway point… it stated to rain steadily!
So it was a wet walk for us all today! We started off before the rain… and I thought we might have an hour or so without rain… but I mis-calculated by 30 mins! We headed off down the hill and jumped across the road to a watercourse. The horses we passed by were snorting our prescence. I don’t think Zoe or Joe heard the calls. They were too busy doing other stuff!
And what was going on with Miss Zoe today? She was head down and boxer butt up on the scent of everything that had moved or passed by our path. She was very adamant about looking into everything that jolted her nose into action. Joe was his usual self, on the lookout for anything untoward! But Zoe was very distracted today!
So we walked down the water course as I was interested to see if there had been any water overflows. But it was all pretty dry in the basin. There was a light mizzle happening, not really enough to get too wet, but by the time we reached the bottom it was starting to drizzle.
We crossed the road by the tunnel and by the time we made it back to the watercourse crossing it was raining. I had flashbacks of a walk Zoe, Joe and I did along the same path in some rainy weather! Zoe and Joe don’t complain so they didn’t seem to mind.
I didn’t really mind until I was soaked and then a nice cool breeze stated up. That made it a bit miserable. But we were climbing a hill for the most part now so that kept us warm and we were entertaining each other keeping spirits up! Zoe was still sniffing out every scent we passed and Joe was getting excited in the rain… so you know…it wasn’t all bad!
By the time we got home we were pretty drenched! Zoe and Joe retreated for their undercover personal verandah and left me out in the rain! The last I saw of Zoe and Joe…they were peering at me from undercover as I trudged off out the gate. See you again soon guys! Happy Easter!
