Diesel and I had a great walk today! We made some new fur-friends and we were very calm and polite…Diesel did pretty well too!!

Diesel had a pretty big day today. We went down to the riverside walk again. As you know, we have been doing off-lead work in some very big open spaces and we also try and do some work where there are people and dogs and kids and bikes and…well…everything!

Diesel and I have been managing quite well, we pass by people and other dogs without too much distraction. Some we say hello to as we pass by. Others we have said hello to and had a chat. A few times, Diesel has sat by and just waited calmly… YES this is the awesome Diesel!

So at one point after we had said hello to some people we went and said hello to some ducks. Diesel was more interested in the mud and having a drink in the river, so that was ok too. Then it hit me… Diesel, loves a challenge, loves water…

Let’s walk across the river!

We had so much fun! Diesel was far more nimble that I was…and I used to be a river guide, lots of rock hopping in those days. It was pretty shallow we both got very wet! I gave up rock hopping and would lead the way through the shallow bits and Diesel would follow after. I had him on “extend-lead” so he could skip back and forth.

We made it to the other side and I squelched my sodden shoes up the bank and Diesel was already up there shaking off the drenching… so I got a second and 3rd and 4th shower as we walked. Diesel looked very happy with himself as we made our way back to do another loop of the river walk.

We met up with our new fur-friends again, and Diesel was very insistent that we join them again…so we did, and we walked back to the car together.

What a great adventure that was Diesel…we should do that again some day…maybe when its another sunny day!
