The last Time Zoe, Joe and I went for a walk, things were a bit overwhelming. Lots of people, noise and horses about for the show…very distracting.

Today I had planned another walk in the same area along the river to have Zoe and Joe get to better know their new “Home-Range”. We took our time and only did a lap but we zigged and zagged and backtracked and sniffed our way about.

We did manage to dodge the rain as well so that worked out well. We also got to take in the walk I had intended to do the other day. It’s such a great park, and I just know Zoe and Joe will love it there!

There may not have been any horses today but there were DUCKS!

Zoe, Joe and I would occasionally take a loop walk that would sometimes have some resident ducks. They weren’t always there, but we did get to see them a few times. So being close to permanent water in the form of the Macquarie River will be a revelation to Zoe and Joe! Lots of ducks, swamp hens, egrets and herons and lately a fair few cormorants. So the bird life will be very entertaining for my two Boxer friends!

So in the lap we did…we went in and out and up and down and round and around the river bank took a peek in some reeds and stared intently at ducks from a far. We were practicing the lets just sit and watch ducks from a nice high bank as the ducks paddled back and forth! Zoe and Joe were in heaven! I am not quite sure that they really took in all that the park offers, but we will take regular walks there so we should get to know it quite well!

For our first full lap we did pretty well. Once Zoe and Joe settle in I am sure we will be charging around, completing lots of laps (I do like this casual walking and sniffing at everything though!) and covering lots of K’s. There are a few walks that I want to take Zoe and Joe on. So we will have a busy walking schedule!
