Today Billy called for so many pat and scratch breaks, that I wasn’t sure we’d get very far at all!

Billy met me at the gate to his yard again as I walked down the drive. Its always nice to get a Billy welcome. Very understated but its all about the love! He’s so funny! We sat down as is our usual hello, and we have a pat and a hello…

Today Billy was extra happy to see me and was running about. Then he looked at me and looked at the tree in his yard…and of course that was his, there’s a possum in this tree look…! I said yeah right Billy…aren’t you starting the search a tad early…? Then he did his…well if you don’t get it…I’ll climb the tree for you!

I took a better look, and there curled up in a ball…sleeping I imagine, was a possum! Well spotted Billy. I guess if he is ever going to know the whereabouts of a possum…it’d be in his own yard!

We watched the possum for some sign of movment, but it was snoozing away. I thought the walk with Billy would give the possum some time to make good an escape, but it was still there napping when we came back!

We did head off for a walk, but I think Billy was more excited about what was going on in his yard as he called so many pat breaks we weren’t going very far at all! We did manage to forget about the possum for a little while. Especially when we found a nice puddle to play in! I was just going to tie him off and see how long he’d splash about for! But I managed to eventually drag him away and head for home.

I hope the possum got a good rest as Billy was ready for the second shift of possum watch!
