Today Zoe, Joe and I did another stroll around the riverside park. Our second in a long line of walks we will do till we get used to all the people and other dogs.

Zoe and Joe have recently moved, and the exit out of their home yard is a bit overcrowed with very noisy dogs. It’s such a contrast with Zoe and Joe. Always cool calm and collected…sure its exciting but they do so well running the gauntlet between barky neighbours!

It is all still so very exciting exploring our new surroundings. Always something to investigate. Joe, always on the lookout for anything going on, is kept quite busy looking this way and that and even has his eye on the opposite side of the river should someone be over there!

So, you can imagine all the distractions to new eyes.

Today we worked on sitting as quietly as we could manage while people passed by, dogs walking with their family or as the case was a few times….ducks catching the current in the raised river and eddying out nearby. I am sure they knew they were getting my boxers all excited.

I think with a little bit of practice we will get the idea and settle in. But when I look at things through Zoe and Joes eyes…my goodness there is a lot to take in! Even, for example the river crossing that has us near passing cars. It’s the closest Zoe and Joe have come to cars… so even getting comfortable with that will take a while.

I get such a kick out of putting myself in Zoe and Joes…paws! Just everything is new and different…the new kids on the block.. We didn’t cover a great distance again today. I think the mental workout today was enough. Once again, I judge the level of excitement by how many trips to the doggy doo bin I make… this is the second time that they didn’t even take time out for the morning constitutionals! So as you can see, we are a bit preoccupied…!
