28.04.15 Billy
Today Billy and I did one of my favourite loops that takes in a number of parks, gardens, sports fields and a nice windy lil creek.
Billy and I have been hangin out together for a while, yet walking with him is always nice and he always manages to make me laugh. He still insists on checking that one shrub that had a cat in it ages ago…and he looks like he expects it to always be there…I guess you have to be ready for these things just in case they happen to be there agai…some time in the next couple of years! I’m sure he laughs at my expense sometimes. But he keeps that to himself. He still bails me up for pat stop,s so the bromance is still strong!
Along the way today we scoped out yet another major bit of landscaping going on in the gardens by the main highway. What looked like being a small pond has turned into quite a large bit of landscaping. You know the kind with a digger and one of those big dump trucks. Billy called for a pat stop nearby the construction site. I am sure he knows I like a bit of industrial sized landscaping so we sat and watched that for a short break. Then we headed off again.
We decided to walk through the park to see how the puddle situation was doing…we of course found some still there from the other day, so took time out for a bit of extend-lead puddle play. Billy makes me laugh…he acts so tough and rugged sometimes…but he’s all goofy when there is water about.
We continued on through the sports ground, off up the paths to the small watercourse to take a peek. Its always nice along these paths. The council still has the plug out of the lil pond that formed there this time last year (…see I saw it once and expect it there again some day!), so its worth a look. No such luck so we took a look at the tree plantings I did a few years ago to see how they were liking all this rain we have had recently. Like Billy, the trees didn’t say too much, but they did look pretty happy! All nice and leafy in the autumn coolness.
We headed back for home with a couple more stops along the way. The hole at the construction site was deeper (I’m still wondering what it is?), and we made it home to play with the rope toy he likes. When I left, Billy was snapping it back and forth with barely a look back at me…don’t mind me Billy…I’ll show myself out! See you next week mate!
