30.04.15 Billy
Billy and I had a very casual walk today! Lots of stops (again) to share the love and take in a view or two!
Today we headed for our well-loved fenceline walk. Its no spectacular destination, but we get to walk out in some fields, shee some sheep and cattle…and previously roos as well as sit and take in the view. I always go on about how affectionate big tough Billy is…he’s so awesome! Look out cats…and if I wasn’t watching look out livestock… but then we sit down and its like…yeah scratch my ears… you big wussy Billy!
Billy knows me well enough by now to pick the nice spots for a human butt to sit and the badger me enough for pats that I call a halt to proceedings!
We did get to watch a lot of sheep and a few head of cattle too. I just know Billy had his eye on the movements of the cattle (he is a cattle dog afterall!) But we can’t go disturbing other peoples cows Billy…I just know he was asking why not!?
We followed the fenceline to the new housing estate construction to see how that’s all going, and then we headed off up the gentle sloping hill to the top of one of the tributaries of a watercourse I like. Its pretty open along the way and of course Billy Bailed me up for another Pat-break! We did manage to get walking again and made our way amongst the magpies and the galahs feeding on the new damp and squishy ground.
We followed the watercourse “upstream” to another inlet and got to the top of that hill and skipped over to the other side of the road. From there, we could have done an alley-hop, follow some streets around and about, but we followed the roadside grove of trees, back towards Billy’s home watercourse and on home.
Its always nice to take a walk with Billy…it’s a mix of walking watching the views and sharing some pats… not a bad plan at all!
