01.05.15 Daisy and Lilly
Today I got to walk Daisy and Lily. It was like we were on our 100th walk not our first. We make a great team.
I will be getting to walk with Daisy and Lily over the next little while and if our first walk is any gauge as to how our walks will go…I may be in for a very casual time. Daisy is a tall girl with a long lopey stride, while Miss Lily is another of my short-legged team members! The 3 of us make quite the sight!
Today we headed off for an open park to get to know each other, but we quickly worked out what was going on so we just started off to see how far we might get. We crossed a busy road and did a back alley shuffle and linked up with a cycleway, crossed that , then over a bridge and out into the fields.
With all the rain we have been having, it was a bit spongey out there today, nbut we persevered and walked all the way over to the Highway and then followed the cycleway over towards the river. We stopped along the way to share some pats and back scratches and that seemed pretty welcome from the girls. We even stopped and I sat down and we had a good look around, took some pics and off we went again.
With my tall friends its always easy to get happy snaps, but I had to get down to lily’s level to snap some pics! Daisy had a great habit of getting in the way…but that’s all good…it was only our first walk together.
We walked to the skate park took a peek at that and as expected on the turn around…the girls get a treat! They have me trained well already!
We headed home but this time we stuck to the cycleway for the return journey…I didn’t really want wet feet and I am sure the girls didn’t mind!
So our first walk went very well. I am sure we will build on our distances, but we’ll be taking it easy anyway. One of my girls needs some extra care at times… so, you know…its not a sprint!
Welcome to the team Daisy and Lily…hope you enjoy our walks to come.
