Today, Phil and I did one of the longer loops…and boy did we motor!
Phil, as always gave me a nice welcome, but he was all business as I spoke with his mum, ‘…come on…enough talk…lets walk…!’
I took the hint and off we went. I had a plan to walk Phil along a loop that we hadn’t quite done before. This one has 2 or three “bail-out” points along which we can escape if its too hot, we are walking a tad slower than usual or were both just too lazy….!
As always I adjust our walks to suit my team!
I wasn’t really up for a mega-walk, but Phil was steaming along… We passed the first of the bail-outs and I paused to consult Phil…he wasn’t that talkative at that point and was trotting along before we had a vote… we then passed another exit route. Which by the way is one of my Favourite sections to walk, and Phil was still charging along.
The only way from here was to head back the way we came of charge on… The point of no return. Phil was in a charging mood!
So we followed the roadside cycleway all the way to the bottom and crossed another road to another cycleway. Its funny, ‘coz at this point the photos stopped as from the new cycleway we were all go go go! No time for pics! Good one Phil, don’t blame me if you are all pooped when we get home.
So we made great time really. We smashed out the k’s and phil was full of beans even up the big hill. I was struggling along, I hadn’t had much sleep, but as always, phil was great company and kept me scooting along!
The pigeon count was low-ish today, but the ones we did see we had fun stalking up on. Phil also had a good time scenting things along the way and playing in a very gluggy mud pool. I thought he was just going to walk in it, but he started pawing at it and splashing mud everywhere! Good one Phil, your mum will kill us if you go home like that! Luckily the pool along the way was full and oddly enough, Phil went in almost chest deep!
Muddy Phil problem solved…Awesome! So we walked for miles, chased pigeons, played in the mud, had a bush-bath and lots to smell along the way.
Pretty good walking I’d say!
