06.05.15 Leo and Sadie
Todays walk was a very distracted one! We passed lots of dogs and lots of people and just couldn’t quite settle in for a little while.
We headed off after and excited welcome and actually did pretty well coming out of leo and Sadies “home paddock”, but all that hard work was lost when, because I had come a little earlier, there were lots of kids around going to scholl and parents with their dogs also walking to school and the usual people out walking their dogs!! So it was a very distracted walk with all these Dogs and people about.
For some reason or another, Leo has been very vigilant ant spotting other Dogs and even other people from afar and getting worked up! So we have been working hard at school to see what can be done. Sadie on the other hand has been a very good girl! Usually she has been the one to be a little crazy at times!
We did find a nice spot under some trees to practice a few laps at concentrating on the job at hand and we settled down after that. Though it did take a bit of effort from both Leo and Sadie!
Then…we were off! We took a nice slow walk in the open parkland and we had fun sniffing and looking about. We sat for some pats in the sunshine and kept walking on. Despite the earlier distractions and the hard work we did under the nice trees, we still covered a lot of ground. So we did settle in after the earlier excitement.
We headed for home a little over the halfway mark, so we got up a good trot. We did have to walk past a few more dogs locked up in their yards and for the most part we did ok. Todays walk was a bit of hard work, but we got there in the end! You played a pretty good “second half” leo and Sadie…keep on trying!
