07.05.15 Muriel

Muriel and I took off into a very chilly early morning! I must remember to wear an extra layer next time!

Muriel as you may know by now is a rusted-on early morning crew member.I may have mentioned her and her Mum head off early, throw the ball around to come home and feed the birds and get a good start to the day!

It was actually quite a lovely morning, and was warm when the sun peered over the ranges, but I was a tad cold. I even had cold hands which is rare for me! But we motored on as usual in Muriels ground smashing pace. The day was a little greay with the fog, but up above was clear blue skies (hence the early morning cold) so we wouldn’t have to wait too long to warm up…Thank goodness! Muriel was warm and toasty, so she wasn’t complaining at all!

Today I though we’d take a walk along the cycleways up to the levee bank towards town. It meant that we didn’t have to get our feet wet if we didn’t want to. Muriel, is made of tougher stuff, and if she followed her nose through some icy grass, then so be it! She’s so funy…always very determined to follow a scent no matter how cold and wet the paws get!

Muriel and I followed the roadside pathway up to another that passes by paddocks with horses. The horses are usually there, but you never know who else is visiting. Sometimes we see sheep and cattle along there. So its always an interesting walk.

We made it all the way to the levee without any real stops. Sure, Muriel likes to investigate things, but she steps it out pretty quickly until she finds something else of interest. Then we darted up a street and just happened to see her Mum passing by in her car…I don’t think Muriel noticed the friendly wave and toot of the horn…but we waved and continued on.

We followed the roadside pretty much all the way home from there. Lots of cars going by and only one keen walker passed us in the whole time we were out. So we pretty much had the walkways to ourselves.

Great walk again Muriel… next time I’ll wear a warmer shirt!
