Scarlett and I were walking for the most part, in the dark for todays walk! Very spooky!
Once again, Scarlett had a great greeting waiting for me today. I checked in with her family about potential for a wet-dog coming home, but apparently Scarlett doesn’t mind the rain… so off we went!
I didn’t get to Scarletts place until a little after the time I had planned. I was dodging Rain showers with a couple of Labrador friends and we got a little delayed. So with the rain delay and the nice early evening sunsets, it was dark before we had even got to the halfway point!
Should we turn back now Scarlett?...or keep going!? We both voted for us to keep going so that solved it!
It was actually quite nice! We only saw two people, one with some fur-friends out for a late afternoon walk and a jogger sweating it out along the pathway. That was pretty much it, and they were all heading for home while we were heading out into the darkness.
I enjoy walking in the dark. We heard lots of happy frogs, ducks settling in for the night, plovers dive bombing us, a few straggling birds making their nesting spots for the night and I thought we got swooped by some micro-bats. I could hear their peeps they make and made out one collecting bugs very close by.
Scarlett seemed to enjoy the walk and when we stopped at the halfway point she seemed very happy. We always have a chat and stop for a pat before we head home so she didn’t seem phased at all. It was pretty dark out. The clouds were low and there was no moonlight to walk by and even with street lighting sporadically placed it was pretty dark out there. Scarlett was checking in with me to see if I was ok, so that was nice!
We finally made it home, and we had dodged any rainfall that might have been threatening and we came home with dry coats, the pair of us!
Good walking again tonight Scarlett, well done!
