Zoe, Joe and I had a casual walk today, more getting to know the parks and riverside walk.
My two Boxer friends have been working really hard at handling all the distractions that pop up in one of the busiest parks we have here in Bathurst. Today we explored a few nooks and crannies and checked out the new construction and landscaping. We had a nice quiet walk around there and we got to take in some new sights.
We went down to the river to see what we could get up to and of course we saw ducks, and as always, that’s very exciting for Zoe and Joe. Joe particularly liked the big white bird I’m sure it was a herron?) and he watched it very intently as it took off at our approach. It only landed maybe 50m away so joe was intent on having another look… but the Herron took off after we took a few more paces toward it.
Zoe was happy just watching the ducks and some people and Dogs on the otherside of the river. We did a couple back and forths along this section of the river and we settled down. We are getting to know this end of the park pretty well, so maybe soon we can try and venture further and build up to some relatively distraction free walks by the river.
We did get to some steep edged sections of the river, this time Zoe and Joe kept relatively clear of the edge…the ducks were still very enticing, but we thought better of getting too close to the edge!
To finish off our walk we headed away from the busy park and just walked along a section that is relatively quiet. So that was a nice way to end off. No matter how relaxed and happy we are at the end of our walks… we still have to walk by a number of very noisy neighbours. Well done (again) for keeping your cool, and just walking by… good job Zoe and Joe!
