12.05.15 Daisy and Lily

Daisy, Lily and I blasted our way out along some cycleways to start with… then we got sidetracked on the way home!

For most of the day I was hoping to make up time and start some of my team members a little earlier than planned. The clouds were gathering and thickening off to the south, so I was expecting it to rain at least some time soon. So Daisy, Lily and I headed off ahead of schedule.

Once again we shuffled and snuffled our way through the fallen leaves for some of the way out towards the river. So you know I loved that. Aparently lily is a fan of leaves too when she dived in amongst some leaves and had a roll. I was laughing and Daisy was probably rolling her eyes at both of us!

Plan “A” was to follow the cycleway to the main road then the roadside cycleway to the river and see where we ended up. We were making very good time and we stopped for a quick few pics, hopefully some will turn out.

Many of my team always take advantage of the situation when I sit down with them. Lily was first to jump on me and run around me tangling me in her lead. Then Daisy thought it’d be a great idea to circle around me in the opposite direction and then wag her tail furiously, slapping me hard with it while they both took their chance for lots of licks!

I managed to untangle myself and get the girls untangled and away we went again…. I am sure anyone watching from the road would have been amused!

We got to a point where we could “Zig” and head to the river….or we could “Zag and take a big loop in behind all the sports grounds and follow a fenceline back to the small creek we pass by and cross as we walk. That turned out to be a great choice as we found that big pile of leaves that Lily had a roll around in and we got to walk on soft squishy grass in contrast to the pavement pounding we were doing earlier. I don’t think the girls minded either way… they didn’t mention it! They were happy just walking out and about!

I have taken a few of my team out in this park and it always surprises me how quiet and peaceful it is out there in the middle. Although the park is obviously bounded by the busy road…you don’t actually hear too much of it! Lily stopped for another roll and Daisy and I shared some pats.

The dark clouds still gathered, but at least we stayed dry. So it was a good idea to try and get a walk in a tad earlier today… good walking girls… see you both again soon.
