18.05.15 Scarlett

It wasn’t so dark out for this walk…amazing what 15minutes difference makes.

The other day, Scarlett and I started our walk a little bit later than planned. I had been doging rain showers for parts of the day and lost a little bit of time along the way. It felt like we had almost set off in the dark, and that it was pretty dark by the time we got home.

Scarlett and I headed off at our scheduled time and we headed off up an alleyway, walked along a small grove of trees then off up the hill.

Today, Scarlett was very chatty again. She was trying to tell me how her day went and all the excitement of what the local dogs were saying to her. We trotted on by and headed off into the sunset.

On the climb up the long hill, we saw a couple of walkers both on the way up and on our way down again. Scarlett always gets compliments and friendly pats. She’s a popular girl and is always happy to see new people. She meets everyone with a tail wag. We passed a Dog out with their owner. We gave them a little bit of room as we passed. They were very excited to see us and really wanted to say hello…they did well to pass us by…maybe we can say hello another day!

We climbed the hill and had a rest on the roadside cycleway. It was a nice view even with the fading light. I think Scarlett likes our turn around sit-downs. We get to have a chat and share some pats and scratches.

On the way home, we took our time. Scarlett was happy to take in all the smells she found on the way up, I was happy to have a little micro-rest…so it worked well for both of us! We also got to watch some skaters ride down a side road and then head off down the cycleway… how they survive without any brakes…I don’t know. Scarlett wasn’t too sure of what to make of the noise they made, but seemed ok when they rolled off down the hill.

It wasn’t quite as dark as the last return journey we made, its amazing what a difference 15 minutes makes. I am guessing though that we will have to bring our future walks to an earlier time… it’s nice to see out there in the middle of winter!

Good walking again today Scarlett!
