19.05.15 Zoe and Joe
It was a miserable day out today, but what better way to warm up than a walk and a play in the park?
Zoe and Joe are another of my team that have spent a walk or three with me soaked through! So there are no excuses from me that can stop us from a walk…pfffttt! What’s a little rain!?
Today I was able to get Zoe and Joe from a different route…so we didn’t have to run the “tunnel of dog”. Thanks to the big efforts of Zoe and Joes Mum and Big sis…we can use a different path! Although Zoe and Joe always did really well in not getting riled-up, I was worried they might pick up some bad habits of barking for no reason!
So we headed off as the rain had just slowed up again and made our way down along the levee again. I was thinking, that for the next few walks down this way, we’d see if the Dog Park was free and make use of it for a crazy run around…if not…we’d just continue on our way. Either way we get a nice workout.
We crossed the bridge again and took the punt that the park wasn’t going to have anyone there and walked the backstreets to the park…and woo hoo…it was empty! So in we went and quickly went lead free. Zoe and Joe aren’t complainers, they don’t go silly…sure…when they see me…its all rules out the window with excitement and acrobatics… but at the park…you should see them.
We do a few laps of the perimeter and a few up and backs through the centre, criss cross and zig zag everywhere. I’ll stand in the Middle and call them ( I just put my arms out wide) and they come sprinting back at full tilt and we say hello with lots of pats and off they go again. Very happy puppies today… I love my job!
So we ran around like crazy people and then we went off for a short loop via the river to head home. Joe of course found some ducks to watch, so Zoe joined in…then I was like oh, ok…lets watch ducks! So we did that, for what seemed not long enough…according to the Boxers, judging by their reluctance to leave!
We made it home, mostly pretty dry really…so that was a bonus… that and the bonus that Zoe and Joe were both pretty subdued when I left them today… they should sleep well tonight! Good walking guys… see you soon!
