20.05.15 Leo and Sadie

Leo and Sadie have been working hard at school, and today we worked really hard, and did so well…Yay Leo and Sadie!

Leo and Sadie always have a great welcome for me when I arrive. From their little squeak someone gives ( I am pretty sure its Sadie), before I am even up the driveway, to the very excited calm-down pats we share. Sadie seems genuinely happy and Leo gives you a quiet look and a quick smile and that glimmer in his eyes… he doesn’t like to be too over the top!

We headed off up the hill without too much distraction at all today. Then we crossed the road, and Mike remembered to do a stop and a sit until the road was clear. We were there for what seemed like ages (even I was getting bored!) and Leo and Sadie sat for most of the time…we did really well!

Then we walked along the path and when we got a little way from our first turn, there was a Dog out on the loose! I spied it before Leo and Sadie and as soon as Leo saw it we did an about face. Sure he did a few look backs…but we certainly didn’t go silly and he did really well. We did another about face and retraced our steps til we made our turn and continued on our merry way!

There were no distractions created by phantom rabbits, or crazy cars going by or a multitude of dogs and their owners walking along today…well, they were there…well not the Rabbits, but Leo chose to ignore them all, so we settled in for a great walk . Sadie was her bouncy self and was just enjoying being out and about.

We walked along our usual dirt track and then into some nice open space. We darted in amongst the trees and made our way to the busy road again. We did our sits, and waited til it was all clear again. We walked across the road like champions with no fuss or tangles! Lots of pats for those kinds of street crossings!

We headed for home and passed by the places where there are usually noisy dogs, but they were asleep or something! Leo was waiting for them…but they didn’t come! So we sat and waited and waited until it got boring…and just kept going!

Good work today Leo and Sadie, you both did so well… keep it up you crazy kids!
