Once again, Billy and I had another Thursday walk that was all about the love! We stopped heaps today for pats and scratches and even a bit of a nudge / head butting play at one stop!

Billy and I are old hands at this walking thing. After our usual hellos we were off into a warm sunny day. After the cool grey start to the day, I was happy things had warmed up. Billy, as always, didn’t seem to mind. We ran off up the street looking for cats and claiming top-dog status as we passed by his noisy neighbours.

Billy is always stopping me for pats and scratches. So of course that went on as we walked. Today I was heading for some trees where we had actually seen a possum. We went to the same tree and Billy gave a few glances up in the foliage, but I couldn’t see any up there today.

We crossed the road and there was another tree that Billy was interested in. he looks at me and looks up and I try to follow his gaze… but I didn’t see anything… I am sure they use this tree. It has a commanding view of the street into some bushland nearby.

So we did that section of the route and we just doubled back the same way towards home.

We stopped at the possum tree and he gave a few glances up into the tree top. Though we just kept going. We did stop …again to share pats and scratches. Billy sometimes gets right up in my face to try and land some licks, but I ducked my head and he ducked into me and we had a push and shove with our heads. Billy cracks me up. He is one of the most playful and demonstrably happy to have me around! I wouldn’t call him a sook… well not to his face!

We went home again via a watercourse…it still had pools of water along the way and we stopped for a splash and a nose dive in the murky water. He even pushed a wave of water up between his legs as if digging a hole…that of course splashed up and soaked my shoes…and then came out and showered me when he shook off the water…
