Scarlet and I leave a little earlier so we don’t come home in the dark…! Wasn’t the sun on our backs a pleasant way to spend our time walking!

The past few walks we have been doing has seen us coming home in darker and darker wintery skies. So we planned to start our regular walks just a tad earlier so at least we can see people walking or cycling along the paths we sometimes follow.

Today was even nicer as the sun was quite warm on our backs. It was still sinking fast, but was pleasant enough for the time we had it! So we jogged off along the cycleway. We met up with a couple of little ones off lead. They weren’t doing as they were told, so we headed off in the opposite direction for a while. Scarlett is always happy to say hello, but I wasn’t as trusting of two loose little ones.

We settled in again to enjoy the warm sun and being outside. Scarlett has been very vocal on our walks lately, and today she was very talkative! When she first see’s me, she is very excited, but today we stopped a few times to have pats and scratches before Scarlett would let me walk on! Funny girl.

We did eventually get going and started chewing up the kilometres. Scarlett was keeping close today… mostly she walks out in front, but was hovering close. Probably for the Random pats!

We didn’t see as many people today as we usually do, but everyone was heading home or on their way somewhere else. So we were ahead of the rush. Scarlett was taking it easy on me today as I have been on the injury bench myself. We still covered the miles, but I was a little slower. Scarlett didn’t seem to mind. We got to our there and back spot and headed for home.

We still got to see the early part of the sunset…so I took a couple of happy snaps of that! No matter if we do a shorter walk or take our time, there is always something to see or smell along the way.
