02.06.15 Zoe and Joe

Today I was up early to get the Boxer twins, Zoe and Joe, out of bed. We were rewarded with a very nice sunrise!

Its been quite cool the past days, winter is on its way. I had to scrape lots of ice off the car and do an unpleasant cold start to the day. My poor lil car didn’t like the time of the morning I wanted it to start! We got there and we zoomed off on a cold clear morning for Zoe and Joes place.

When I got there they were still curled up in their very nice coats. They did hear me close the gate, so it was a sleepy-eyed pair of boxers that greeted me at first! Though, by the time I had them out of their coats, they were in full lets-welcome-mike mode!

As always, once the leads are on, its walking time…enough of that sharing the love.

I had a bit of a plan today. Zoe and Joe really love their leash-free time at the Dog Park. So I was heading there first and try our luck. Zoe and Joe are a pretty formidable team together and they don’t know how to play gently with others. So we get in there and run about like crazy people and get out.

I really like the reaction Zoe and Joe have to the Dog Park. They keep and eye on me even when they are running about. I’ll call them in…by opening my arms out like a big hug! Then Joe sets off at a blistering pace and then Zoe follows! It’s just a bit scary having two big tough Boxers run at you…and still accelerating and come crashing into me…

It’s scary…but I always laugh my butt off… so it’s a bit of a game… lets run at Mike!

Zoe and Joe are such happy kids, that I’d really love to see if we can meet other dogs with out so much enthusiasm. We did pretty well. But Joe gets a little over enthusiastic. If another Dog barks or runs up too quick…it’s all a bit too exciting. Joe would really love to play with some other dogs… but for now we have to take it slowly!

We did get to meet a young pup, but the two Boxers were a bit much so we headed off and kept walking in the early morning sunlight! Very nice!

When we headed for home, there was still lots of Icy grass about. It was slowly melting. The bridge we crossed was still frozen with lil ice stars covering the deck. Zoe and Joe didn’t seem to mind walking in the tall icy grass, even when they could walk elsewhere!

Two tough cookies…! Good Job Zoe and Joe… see you again soon…
